"Life is not what you see or read on the news, nor what you hear from your neighbor. It is what you have created with your thoughts and feelings and in other words, what you have breathed on or spent your energy on. As your attention goes, so goes your life. There is no mystery to this. The things that we pay attention to, the things that we breathe life into become our experiences."
- Dawn Vaz-Green (Excerpt from BreathFUSION Blogs)
A rainy evening was the gentle backdrop for the launch of BreathFUSION Blogs, the new book from Dawn Vaz-Green last Thursday. The soothing quality of the light drizzle seemed to reflect the atmosphere of the launch at Revolution Gallery, which included Vaz-Green reading excerpts from the publication and her husband, Desmond, leading a circle of meditational focus.
Vaz-Green is a former president of the Jamaica Guild of Artists and is known to many as a surrealist painter. She says the book, which is her seventh, is a collection of insights gleaned from her own life journey and her attempts to apply the lessons learnt. Breath, according to Vaz-Green, is an important component in harnessing the potential energy available to every human being. "If you believe you can fly," she writes, "you will."
BreathFUSION Blogs is a compilation of blog postings that focus on the power inside each of us to create our own reality. According to the book, achieving our dreams is a matter of focusing our attention on what we want to manifest and believing in the vision. We also need to unconditionally love and accept ourselves and understand that we are indeed worthy of the things we want.
It is refreshing to see Vaz-Green carrying out a mission of positivity and spiritual upliftment with today's headlines being what they are. Jamaica, and the world at large, could use a dose of affirmation and BreathFUSION Blogs is one person's road map to the creation of dreams and the manifestation of worlds most people only imagine.
