'Honesty's lovely face'

The Editor, Sir:

Your staff reporter Tendai Franklyn-Brown and chief photographer Rudolph Brown did a superb job in the story "Women return $1m - Cash found handed to Portmore police" (The Gleaner, December 29).

The smiling faces of superintendent Michelle Lewis and nobly honest Dhaima Brookes standing against the backdrop of a Guardsman vehicle in front of the police station in Brown's photo speaks volumes and reminds me of the motto from my early alma mater Vaz Preparatory School: 'Honest labour bears a lovely face'.

I don't know if Dhaima Brookes is a Christian, but thank God the word says God has given to everyman "a measure of faith" (Romans 12:3) and I wish to personally congratulate her because she has indirectly given the glory to God.

I am, etc.,
