Appleton Estate Extra 12-Year-Old Jamaica Rum has been named one of Wine Enthusiast Magazine's Top 50 Spirits of 2008.
It received the highest recommendation and a score of Classic 96-100 in the rum section of the list, which was carried in Wine Enthusiast's 'Best of Year' issue.
A total of four rums were included in the Top 50 Spirits list, which was compiled by noted spirits writer and Wine Enthusiast's Spirits Tasting Director, F. Paul Pacult. "We are extremely pleased that Appleton Estate Extra 12-Year-Old Jamaica Rum was included in this list, which is a 'who's who' of the top spirits in the United States," said David McConnell, Appleton Estate Jamaica Rum's managing director of global marketing.
"We must also pay tribute to the skill and craftsmanship of our team, who, year after year, produce rums of the highest quality, following time-honoured traditions that have been handed down for over 250 years", continued McConnell.
Appleton Estate Extra 12-Year-Old is the Ultra Premium Rum in the Appleton Estate Jamaica Rum Range and is made from rums from the Appleton Estate that have been aged for a minimum of 12 years in oak barrels.
