The University of Technology, Jamaica (UTech) is advising students enrolled for the Summer Session that classes have been suspended for the remainder of this week in the Faculty of Business and Management, the Faculty of Engineering and Computing and the School of Building and Land Management.
UTech said a further advisory on the resumption of classes would be issued tomorrow.
"The university administration regrets the inconvenience to students and other stakeholders caused by the suspension," UTech said.
It was all smiles amid the downpour as students and teachers of the Louise Bennett-Coverley All-Age gathered to express appreciation for gifts presented to the institution by Children of Jamaica Outreach (COJO) Inc.
During the handover exercise yesterday, COJO presented 10 computers, a copier and a projector valued at approximately US$9,000 to the principal, Winston Jackson.
COJO founder and chairman, Gary Williams, said he was pleased that the organisation was able to support the educational development of the children. The presentation was made possible as a result of a partnership with Christopher Roberts, past student of the school and owner of The Door Restaurant in Queens, New York.
