Franklyn Town Basic School has received help to renovate the school property.
Sonia Hamilton, principal of the institution located in Franklyn Town, said she was grateful for the assistance, especially for the renovation of the bathroom.
The bathroom, which was in-undated whenever it rained, was refurbished on Monday as part of a Labour Day project that the AAMM Co-operative Credit Union and Kiwanis Club of Portmore had undertaken.
Hamilton said children were facing discomfort, as the bathroom would get wet and was unsafe for small children. The bathroom roof was fixed and the zinc door replaced with a wooden entrance.

The groups also sealed the roof of a corridor, painted walls, placed tyres in the yard and repaired the school's swings.
The AAMM Co-operative Credit Union adopted the basic school in 1980.
The credit union has since been providing support to the school with educational donations, repairs, as well as catering to its economic needs.
