affected areas
The Paddington Terrace project consists of the construction of 900 metres of sanitary sewers together with numerous sewer manholes and plot/side road laterals running along Paddington Terrace between its intersections with East Kings House road and Liguanea Avenue.
Under the Barbican Road project, the work will involve the laying/relaying of some 1,081m of sewer pipeline together with manholes and plot/road laterals along Barbican Road from an existing sewer manhole in the vicinity of Sovereign Centre.
It will run northward to its intersection with Charlemont Avenue, continue through the compound of the Chinese cultural centre traversing the Barbican Gully to an existing manhole on Cedar Valley Terrace. The pipeline will continue to the College Green and Ravina Mews sewage treatment plants.
Like the Paddington project, the Wiggan Loop Project will involve the complete construction of 557 metres of sewer pipe together with sewer manholes and plot/road laterals. It will start from an existing manhole at the entrance of Barbican Centre running along East Kings House Road, crossing the Barbican Gully and continuing to the Wiggan Loop waste water treatment plant along Jacks Hill Road, on to Barbican Road along East Kings House Road to a manhole at Sommerset Gully Crossing.
Work will be carried out between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m. Contractors said they would try to limit disruptions to water supply as well as traffic to an absolute minimum.
