Supreme Court Judge Bryan Sykes has granted bail to the two female jurors who were arrested earlier this month for allegedly bribing the relative of an accused man to free him.

They were each offered bail in the sum of $200,000 with sureties and are to report to the May Pen police station three times per week. The bail is in respect to the contempt of court proceedings against them.

The women are also charged with perverting the course of justice. They will appear in the May Pen Resident Magistrate's Court today when their lawyers are expected apply for bail.

In another incident, a man who admitted to using his mobile phone to take photographs of a complainant in a case against his brother, is now behind bars.

The man was taken into custody on Tuesday. Supreme Court Judge Martin Gayle remanded the man pending investigations into the matter. The judge also revoked the bail of the man's brother.

Caught in the act

The police reported that the man was seen taking pictures of the complainant at the Supreme Court. The complainant had attended court to testify in a robbery and illegal possession of firearm case against the man's brother. A policeman, on seeing what was happening, confiscated the camera and reported the incident.

It is alleged that the man said he was taking photographs because he wanted to conduct investigations to ascertain if the complainant was in fact the person who was robbed.
