The Kingston and St Andrew parish champions in the inaugural Institute of Sports (INSPORTS) All-Island Community Football Championship will be decided today at the Barbican playing field.

Jungle 12 will meet Franklyn Town in the St Andrew final at 1 p.m., and Caribbean Strikers tackle Romantic in the Kingston final at 3 p.m.

Jungle 12 advanced to the final after getting the better of Ayshire 10-9 on penalties in the semi-finals. The other St Andrew finalists, Franklyn Town, also secured their spot via the penalty shoot-out route. They emerged 4-2 winners on penalties over Crooks Street.

Caribbean Strikers got past Parade Gardens 2-1, while Romantic blanked Owa Banks 3-0 in their semis.

The two losers of today's semis will still have a chance to make it to the all-island stage of the competition, as is explained by co-ordinator Rudolph Barnes.

"In the parish championship, we wanted to have 16 teams, so because we only have 14 parishes, we split St Catherine in two groups: Portmore and St Catherine. That gave us 15 teams, so in order to get the 16th team, the losers of the Kingston parish final and the losers of the St Andrew final will play off for the final spot to make it 16."
