Cement prices rise

Published: Monday | February 1, 2010

STARTING TODAY, customers are expected to dig deeper into their pockets when purchasing a bag of cement.

Carib Cement Company Limited is increasing the price of its product by seven and a half per cent

The company said the increases have become necessary following the increase in haulage and fuel cost.

The cement company said it had also been forced to increase prices based on the new petroleum tax, and added that the new increase will apply to the last reduced prices.

The increase is the first since August 2008 when the company hiked its price to the tune of 15 per cent.
