Chito, who was also vice-chairman of the Jamaica National Heritage Trust, reportedly had an argument with his wife before shooting her several times and then turning the gun on himself.
The management and staff of the bank have expressed sadness and regret at the incident.
In a statement yesterday, Gail Abrahams, senior manager for corporate communications at FGB, said the bank expressed its sincere condolences to the immediate families and friends of the Chitos.
Everett Chito had been employed to FGB for the past three years and was appointed manager of the bank's New Kingston branch a year ago.
The bank's vice-president for human resources, Marcia Henry, said Everett's sudden death had left a cloud over his colleagues who were deeply moved by his untimely passing.
