A pregnant woman was among three persons shot and killed in the St Catherine South Police Division on the weekend.

Dead is Natalee 'Cathy' Thompson, 25-year-old of Wellside Lane, Old Harbour, St Catherine.

Reports from the Old Harbour police are that about 8:30 p.m. on Sunday, Thompson, who was eight months pregnant, was seen running from her house, collapsing a short distance away.

Checks revealed that she had received multiple gunshots wounds.

Thompson was scheduled to appear in court later this week on sexual offence charges.

Thompson's murder followed the killing of 32-year-old Nigel Martin of Browns Avenue, Central Village, St Catherine.

Others escaped unhurt

Martin was reportedly at home about 12:30 a.m. with two other persons when gunmen invaded his house and shot him in the head. The other two persons escaped unhurt.

In another incident, about 12:30 p.m., an unidentified man was in Bridgeport when a car drove up and occupants fired shots, hitting him. The man later succumbed to his injuries.

The St Catherine South Homicide Unit is investigating the killings.

St Catherine South recorded 164 homicides for 2009, 52 more than for 2008.
