National Striker Navion Boyd scored in the 28th minute for Houston Dynamo in their 4-1 scrimmage win over the University of Central Florida (UCF) Tuesday at the ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex in Orlando, Florida.

Boyd, along with fellow countryman Lovel Palmer who was also in the Dynamo starting line-up, is on a one-week trial with the Texas-based MLS outfit in Orlando, where the team is holding a pre-season training camp.

The 22-year-old Boyd, a former Wolmer's Boys Manning Cup player, has netted 10 goals in the Premier League for Tivoli Gardens this season. Both players are scheduled to return to the island on Sunday.

Opening goal

Boyd scored the opening goal after Jonathan De León laid back a cross from Danny Cruz. UCF tied the game in the 36th minute, as Kevin George scored from an Eduardo Jimenez free kick.

Boyd and Palmer will again be in action today when the Dynamo compete in the Walt Disney World Pro Soccer Classic, their first competition against MLS teams this pre-season. They will face the New York Red Bulls, the club of fellow Reggae Boy Dane Richards, starting at 5 p.m. Toronto FC and FC Dallas will play the other semi-final.

The losers will play at 5 p.m. on Saturday, and the winners will play at 7:30 p.m. Fans can hear both Dynamo games via an internet-only radio broadcast on
