Blake cruises home in 10.19 seconds

National junior record holder over 100 metres, Yohan Blake, launched his 2010 season with a comfortable victory in his pet event at yesterday's Lucozade G.C. Foster Classic held on the college grounds.
Blake, running out of lane five in heat one, stopped the clock at 10.19 seconds to take the event ahead of Marvin Anderson, 10.26.
Kenroy Anderson, Blake's team-mate at Racers Track Club, won heat two in 10.29 seconds.
In the 200m, Rasheed Dwyer of G.C. Foster College (20.99) beat Sprint Tech's Lanceford Spence (21.17), while Carrie Russell of University of Technology (24.16) beat MVP's Nadia Cunningham (24.19).
In the high school section, Toni-Ann Moore of Campion (24.92) beat Shakira Martin of St Elizabeth Technical (25.17) in Class One.
Sashel Brown of Alpha (25.65) won Class Two ahead of Meadowbrook's Attiyana Morris (25.71); Dianna Johnson of Holmwood (24.70) took Class Three ahead of John Mills' Brittany Matthews (25.48), while Anika Brissett of St Catherine was the top finisher in Class Four, running 25.86 to beat Holmwood's Shanta Deer (26.04).
In the hurdles, Samantha Elliott of Immaculate High turned the tables on St Jago's Tonique Sobah, who beat her at the Carifta Trials. Soba clocked 14.00 seconds and Elliott 14.39 in the girls' Class One 100m event.
Duece Carter of Calabar won the boys' Class One 110m hurdles in 14.41, while Wolmer's Yanick Hart took Class Two in 14.15.
Kingston College's Levaghun Battick won the Class Three 100m hurdles in 14.21.
In the field, Daniel Donieke of Campion, with a leap of 1.55m, took the girls' Class Four high jump, while Alpha's pair of Krista-Gay Taylor and Tatiana Wolfe cleared 1.60m in the Class Three event.
