The evolution of a spa

What was once Face Solutions & More, has evolved into CSW Universal Spa, now located at the Hilton Kingston Jamaica hotel.
The spa boasts a more serene ambience with warm pastel colours, and more service rooms at its new location. At the entrance, a calming waterfall welcomes customers and there is the added lure of scented and aromatherapy candles.
In addition, Sharon Williamson, owner of the spa, told Flair that customers will have additional amenities. Not only will they be pampered, but once they have used the service, they have the opportunity of using the hotel's pool free of cost. And they may also treat themselves to a drink at the bar or watch the fish in the nearby pond.
Williamson explained that her decision to move from the Haining Road location and change the spa's name was because she thought the timing was right. And, by moving to a hotel such as the Hilton Kingston, it was more beneficial to all concerned.
Local and International clients
"In that I will now attract both local and international clients. Also, the hotel provides a more secure environment, so I am able to cater to diplomats and corporate clients visiting Jamaica for business," said Williamson.
She noted that she would be doing more body massages and scrubs, as well as threading, extreme lashes, full make-up services and offering product lines such as Nu Skin and Black Opal, in addition to her personal product line.
Williamson who is a former banker, is currently the financial controller for her family business, D&B Bowlers Group of Companies, but getting involved in the beauty business was inevitable.
"When I was growing up, I had really bad acne which encouraged me to learn about skin care; plus I have always loved dressing up and looking fabulous."
The spa owner said after reading a lot about acne and how to treat it, she decided to further her knowledge, by studying skin care and beauty privately with Elima Hall, former owner of the Face Place. She also did all of the levels of skincare and chemical peel courses at cosmedical technologies and a facial and professional aesthetic course at Professional Aesthetic Centre, both in Fort Lauderdale, United States of America.
She pointed out that her five employees are all professionally trained and have the requisite skills to deal with all skin types. She also stated that she has been in the business for the last six years and her staff are all experienced as well, so she customers will be in good hands. Plus, there is an ongoing weekly training programme to keep staff on top of their game.
Williamson said that since the spa opened its doors, new customers have come in and she has benefited from the location because in-house guests utilise the services. She added that the spa caters to both men and women, offering signature treatments at a competitive price, and operates by appointment.
She pointed out that she is counting her blessings and will provide customers with quality service in a convenient location at a low cost.
