DEBATE ON the six anti-crime bills were postponed yesterday in Gordon House as the Government and Opposition agreed to hold talks in an effort to reach a compromise on the controversial measures.
Since the House started debate on the bills less than three weeks ago, opposition members of parliament (MP) and at least one government MP have signalled their intention to reject the proposals.
Yesterday, leader of government business in the House, Andrew Holness, told his colleagues that a team from both the Government and Opposition would engage in dialogue as they search for consensus.
