Carmen Hart, retiring principal of Obistan Kinder-Prep School in St Andrew, was lauded on Monday evening for outstanding contribution to education.

Members of the school's board of directors heaped praise on the retiring educator for her deep level of commitment and dedication to the profession.

They noted that Hart is leaving the school after having built a solid foundation for others to continue the transformation process.

Responding to the tributes, the retiring educator, who leaves the island on Friday for the United States, said Obistan meant much to her and she was happy to have been given the opportunity to serve in the top position at institution on two separate occasions. She lauded her staff for their support and very hard work.

Obistan Kinder Prep, run by the Church of the Open Bible, will hold its annual school-leaving exercise tomorrow at 4 p.m. at the church, 12 Washington Boulevard, St Andrew. Guest speaker will be communications specialist, Jean Lowrie-Chin.

The school is now registering students for the new academic year, which starts in September.
