She has always been a hard worker in her schoolwork, so getting high scores in the Grade Six Achievement Test (GSAT) was no surprise to Rennay McDermoth, student of Windward Road Primary Junior High School.
She topped the scores at the school in the exam with a 96.9 per cent average, earning a place at the prestigious Campion College.
"I am elated that I was placed at the school that I wanted to attend and I will try my best to make good use of the opportunity," the 12-year-old student said
"I want to thank God, first of all, and I would also want to thank my family and teachers for helping me to do such good job," she added.
The team member of the champion Junior Schools' Challenge Quiz team said knowledge gained from the competition has helped her to be successful in GSAT.
"I am involved in extra-curricular activities at my school, which helped me to be more rounded, and I am also a member of the quiz team, which provided me with a lot of knowledge that was very helpful," she noted.
