Bash-the-police hypocrites

Published: Friday | August 13, 2010 Comments 0

The Editor, Sir:

Jamaicans are hypocrites. From the commis-sioner of police to the old woman on the sidewalk, everyone is crying for the Buckfield man seen being beaten in the video. Who is crying for the woman whom he reportedly brutally stabbed a few minutes earlier? Who is crying for her children? Who is crying for her sister and others who are without a mother, sister, and friend?

Why is his life more valuable than hers? No one thinks that this woman wanted to live and do the things that we all take for granted, like reading this article. Now we all want to play 'bash the police' because one allowed his emotion to get the best of him. Someone, please mention that this woman was also a human, a Jamaican, like the man who allegedly murdered her.

I am, etc.,

Kevin Hamilton
