Closer scrutiny for slb in future

Published: Wednesday | August 18, 2010 Comments 0

The Editor, Sir:

I read with interest the newly installed board at the Students' Loan Bureau and I said to a friend that I am thankful I was never a recipient of a loan and neither had I applied to the bureau.

It is with deep regret that Mrs Lenice Barnett was removed from her position with what I consider insufficient information to the public about the real reasons why she was dismissed. However, I hope that, in time, the truth, and nothing but the truth, will be revealed.

I hope that each member that has been elected, be held to public scrutiny of their involvement in this crucial and life-sustaining institution.

Education is the only pillar that elevates the status quo of men and women who opt to pursue scholastic endeavours in our society.

I am, etc.,

Sharon Durloo
