The Kiwanis Club of Linstead honoured 30 members for two to 30 years of service to the organisation at its 30th anniversary dinner and awards ceremony, recently.
Notable awardees were William R. Ricketts, Deryck Dilworth and Ashley Gayle, who spearheaded the formation of the club in 1980.
Among those who also helped to shape the organisation, were Lance Chung, recognised for 29 years of service. Dwight Robinson collected his award for giving 22 years and Evon L. Campbell was lauded for his 21 years in the club.
The Kiwanians were not the only honourees, as Rev Sofia Azan, custos of St. Catherine, who was unable to attend the function, was also lauded for her invaluable support
Additionally, four schools, Bog Walk High, Dinthill Technical, McGrath High and Charlemont High, received awards for their contribution to the club's Sponsorship Leadership Programme (SLP) - Key Club.
Keynote speaker, Rev Lorna McFarlane of the Spanish Town Circuit of Methodist Churches, commended the club for impacting the lives of many in Linstead and its environs, through its special programmes and projects.
