Studio 38, the popular bistro, cum night time entertainment centre located at Pulse, Trafalgar Road, celebrates its first anniversary this Friday night with a slew of entertainment activities, specials and giveaways.
Although Studio 38 has largely catered to a more mature audience, it has purposefully widened its appeal to include younger patrons. Chairman, Kingsley Cooper, says that this will be even more evident in the second year.
Over the past 12 months a wide range of features have made Studio 38 the place to be. More recent additions such as themed parties including 'Women At The Control' and the very successful Wednesday night jam '98 38', featuring old skool icon DJ Squeeze, have continued the tradition of fun that has kept Studio 38 rocking. Kingston Rock, another new feature, takes place on Sundays as the younger entertainers and members of the public enjoy live and recorded music with a distinct Japanese flavour, including the event's patronage. Already, Kingston Rock has presented Admiral Bailey, Yellowman and Pinchers.
Supermodels have presented runway shows at Studio 38 and a wide range of celebrities from Donovan Bailey to Johnny Gill have come to enjoy the Studio 38 ambience, made even more appealing with the addition of the new VIP 'Earth Box' opened recently.
Shontelle, Yendi Phillips, Usain Bolt, Chris Gayle, Bob Andy, Asafa Powell, Jaunel McKenzie, Carla Campbell, Third World and the cast and crew of Better Mus' Come, are just a few of the notables who have come to party at Studio 38.
Beres Hammond performed there this year as part of the popular feature 'Live at Studio 38'. Gregory Isaacs performed his last concert at Studio 38 on July 25. Other live performances came from Toots and the Maytals, The Mighty Diamonds, George Nooks, John Holt, U-Roy, Freddie McGregor, Ken Boothe, Ernie Smith and Lloyd Parkes and We The People. A special Live at Studio 38 First Anniversary showcase is planned for November 28.
This Friday night, all patrons who arrive before 7 p.m. will be admitted free. All drinks will be sold on a two-for-one basis before 8 p.m.
