The National Gallery of Jamaica has resumed its Saturday Art Time children's programme.

Saturday Art Time, which was first staged as a pilot programme in 2009, is the National Gallery's innovative Saturday morning art programme for children and consists of a range of gallery-based art workshops for participants ranging from ages 8 to 15 years.

The workshops expose participants to the appreciation and creation of various forms of art and encourage them to view and use the National Gallery as an interesting and fun-filled place to learn about the visual arts, history and culture of Jamaica.

Participants have the opportunity to interact with gifted and capable art teachers committed to making their experience enjoyable and educational.

The current phase of Saturday Art Time is sponsored by the Culture Health Arts Sports and Education fund. Saturday Art Time is held every Saturday morning from 10 a.m. until 1 p.m. at the National Gallery.

Participation is free but space is limited, so be sure to register early. For more information, contact the National Gallery's Education Department at 922-1561 or 3 (Lime landline) or 618.0654 or -5 (Digicel fixed line) or via email at
