'Web of deception'

Solicitor General Douglas Leys said the engagement of United States law firm Manatt, Phelps & Phillips in the extradition affair of Christopher 'Dudus' Coke was part of a "web of deception".
Leys, in his fourth day of testifying before the Dudus-Manatt Commission of Enquiry yesterday, named local attorney Harold Brady as one of the persons involved in the web.
Under cross-examination by attorney at law Lieutenant Colonel Linton Gordon, who is representing the Jamaica Defence Force, Leys said at no time prior to December 2009 was he aware that Brady had any involvement in the extradition matter.
"I now realise that there was, for want of a better term, a web of deception, and Mr Brady was involved in that," he testified.
