MONTEGO BAY Community College will on Monday host a special event aimed at informing the public on the problems confronting education in the area of mathematics.
This initiative is being presented in collaboration with the Caribbean Institute for Mathematical Sciences, a recently incorporated not-for-profit organisation, dedicated to research and education in mathematics, in support of sustainable development in the region.
The event, which will be held from 1 to 3 p.m. is a follow-up to the workshop for mathematics teachers previously held at the college, titled 'An Evening of Mathematical Musings'.
This time around, the event features the research findings and experience of two distinguished researches and educators from the United States.
Open to the pubic in general, the event is aimed at mathematics teachers at all levels, students, as well as personnel from government and private-sector agencies involved in education.
