When Christ will return
THE EDITOR, Sir:
Believe it or not, there are many persons in the realm of Christendom, right here in Jamaica and abroad, who are anxious and nervous about today May 21, at 6 p.m.
Family Radio speaker Harold Camping has predicted that at exactly this time the world is going to end. This prediction has not only created a media frenzy worldwide but has caused many to be quitting their jobs and selling or giving away their personal belongings.
May I advise Jamaicans not to be caught up in this frenzy? Scripture clearly outlines that events and persons like Camping would come on the scene with stuff like this.
Matthew 24:36 says no man nor angel in heaven knows of the time and date of Christ's return. In chapter 24, Jesus outlines that when he returns, it will be obvious for all to see wherever on the globe you are. There will be no secret rapture.
So I will say to people, enjoy your dinner at 6 p.m. today. This self-styled prophet will be in his office to recalculate and set another date come 6:15 p.m.
I am, etc.,
