Below are excerpted comments from www.jamaica-gleaner.com readers in response to yesterday's package on Christopher 'Dudus' Coke's guilty plea.

squeal, dudus, squeal

Gangsters, when faced with the prospect of life in prison, will always sing to get reduced sentences. Nothing shocking here. The US justice system is nothing like we practise here, and if this was being tried in Jamaica, the man would be in his palace in Plantation Heights.

He, instead, will be singing for his supper and many will be shaking in their boots. Just look out for the next set of visa revocations.

end gangsterism

Entrenched gangsterism must now go. For too long, we Jamaicans have been the victims of high crime. The fact that guns and ammunition were rented to criminals from Tivoli Gardens to commit murder has now come to halt. It's still there, but now there's a lid on it. Who is next to test the Jamaican/American justice system? Get used to it.

shame on gov't

Big up, Peter Phillips. Big up, MOUs. Big up, Constable Red Herring.

Coke was caught by the wiretap evidence which this JLP Government fought so hard against and his defence folded. Finally, he conceded guilt. This was the man that the prime minister and the former AG sought to protect from extradition. The current security minister and all MPs who supported Bruce in his efforts should hang their heads in shame. What a sorry, disgraceful bunch!

bigwigs fretting

JLP, in particular Golding, Nelson and the former clueless AG, should be ashamed of themselves. Many politicians and socialites must be having uncontrollable bowel movements now.
