Taxi drivers using Mark Lane, at the intersection of East Queen Street, downtown Kingston, as a taxi stand. - Norman Grindley/ Chief Photographer
Destination Downtown turns the spotlight on some of the little things that need to be fixed if the redevelopment of the commercial district is to become a reality.
TAXI OPERATORS in downtown Kingston have made Mark Lane, between Sutton and East Queen streets, an unofficial terminus, preventing the free flow of traffic. At any time of the day, taxis can be seen dropping off and picking up passengers, preventing other motorists from using the road. This needs the immediate attention of the police and the Transport Authority.
