Christie OK with answering to House

Declaring that he was fully committed to transparency and accountability in the discharge of his duties, Contractor General Greg Christie has said 'yes' to a request to appear before a parliamentary committee today.

Christie's acceptance is in stark contrast to a decision by Director of Public Prosecutions Paula Llewellyn who, last week, turned down a similar request, citing a battery of constitutional provisions that shelter her from such appearances before the parliamentary caucus.

Christie will today attend a meeting of the Public Administration and Appropriations Committee following an invitation by the committee on September 26.
