1 Why did you decide to sponsor Flairtatious?

Digicel has enjoyed a long-standing relationship with Flair over the years and we have also worked with Mustard Seed, assisting them to restore one of their burnt-out units, among other initiatives. We, therefore, commend Flair for celebrating its 27th anniversary by giving back - specifically to Mary's Child - a Mustard Seed apostolate.

2How are you hoping to benefit from the sponsorship?

We are delighted to be partnering with the Flair on this initiative, which is gaining from the association with worthwhile causes in the society.

3What is your company's stance on corporate responsibility/citizenship?

Corporate social responsibility is very important to us at Digicel. In fact, giving back is at the very heart of Digicel. At the Digicel Foundation, which was established in 2004, our mission is to help people and communities and work to build sustainable, meaningful programmes for the good of Jamaica and Jamaicans. Run entirely by Digicel staff, we have invested over J$1billion and completed over 206 projects to date, impacting the lives of our two million Jamaicans.

They focus on education, special needs, sports, culture, community empowerment and the environment. One of our main goals is 100 per cent literacy by 2015 - a goal we hope to meet by integrating technology into classrooms and improving the learning environment and experience of children with disabilities; empowering communities to flourish through sustainable skills-based projects, fostering youth development and building cultural awareness and pride, while protecting our environment.

4With Christmas fast approaching, do you have any special sales or marketing initiatives to share with readers?

Christmas is a special time of the year for Digicel and our customers and we're always looking for ways to innovate and wow our customers, while taking time to give back. And while that is still a secret, we can say that Christmas will certainly be even Bigger and Better with Digicel and our customers.
