Wisynco, through its Ocean Spray WATA brand, has joined forces with Creative Media and Events (CME) to present the first of its kind, The Ocean Spray WATA Alumni Football Competition.

The competition will take place today at the Barbican football field.

The six-a-side football competition will, for the first time, bring together the 'old boys' of some of Jamaica's finest institutions in one location to match their skills against each other for glory and bragging rights.

"Nothing excites Jamaicans as much as schoolboy football, to see the old boys pit themselves against each other. This will be quite entertaining to watch. CME is excited to bring this event to Jamaica for the first time," says managing director of Creative Media and Events, Leighton Davis.

Creative Media and Events is known to plan high-end corporate events such as Digicel's 10th anniversary party, Scotiabank's 'Chicks and balances', Spa Week, Corporate Mingle, and the RBTT rebranding, to name a few.

The participating schools includes Kingston College, Campion College, St George's College, Jamaica College, Wolmer's Boys' School, Meadowbrook High School and Calabar High School. One current student from each school will be allowed on the team.

charitable donation

At the end of the game, a charitable donation to the sports fund of the winning alumni team will be given.

Ocean Spray WATA continues to aid in the development of sports and education in Jamaica. To date, the Ocean Spray WATA brand has sponsored numerous sporting events, and this kicks off the season on upcoming events, such as the Ocean Spray WATA Wolmers 5K, the Schools Challenge Workshop, and Ocean Spray WATA Jamaica 5K later next month.

"Events like the Ocean Spray WATA Alumni Football Competition promote the family spirit, camaraderie and healthy competition. Patrons can expect to be wowed by some of Jamaica's most influential and respected individuals from the alumni communities, and musical artistes." says Tamara Ward, Ocean Spray and Coca-Cola Country Manager.

The event is also sponsored by Locker Room Sports, SportsMax, Adam & Eve Day Spa, Creative Media and Events, Wealth Magazine, Red Bull and Alma Mater.
