Small and medium size business owners have been taking advantage of the benefits of the new Digicel MiFi modem since its launch in September, according to Digicel Director of Broadband James McElvanna.

"We have seen a fantastic reaction from among our SME (small and medium enterprise) users for the MiFi device since we launched it over two months ago," McElvanna said. "The Digicel MiFi device is fast becoming a 'must-have' for business executives who need 4G connectivity."

Mobile 4G hotspots

Powered by Digicel 4G Broadband, the WiFi portable modem allows users to create their own mobile 4G hotspots both indoor and while on the go. The MiFi device works like a private hotspot offering the benefits of Digicel's high speed 4G Broadband to up to five laptops, tablets or gaming consoles instantaneously in any one area. Each device is being offered at a cost of $6,950 with a monthly subscription fee of $3,500. Postpaid customers who purchase the MiFi hotspot device will have unlimited 4G broadband.

The MiFi hotspot device is a compact wireless modem that provides Internet or network access to any WiFi enabled peripheral device. For added security and accessibility each MiFi device can also be password enabled to ensure that only authorised users can access the system.

"As innovators in the field of mobile technology we are happy to offer this product to customers who want to experience the ease and convenience of multiple devices with high speed Internet access anytime, anywhere," McElvanna said.
