Thursday Talk
Straight parade
1. The recent rush by some on the political campaign trail to parade their 'straightness' in what some see as an attempt to 'Out' others, have many saying those who live in glasshouses should refrain from throwing stones!
Post-dated cheques
2. At least one candidate is making sure his payouts will bring him returns, as the cheques to potential voters are all post-dated to January 2012. Another one has promised cows, but they, too, can only be collected after December 29.
Fake credit card
3. Questions are being asked about the credibility of one loquacious but divisive party dependent who is paid by the taxpayers, after reports surfaced that he has been tendering a fraudulent credit card to settle bills.
Perfect celebration
4. Some are saying, "talk about not getting it". They say the wedding was the perfect celebration save and except the fact that, 'the dilettante' showed up wearing white, her 'love child' and the 'babyfather' in tow.
Political efforts
5. Story is that a number of exiles flew into the island to add their cheque books and cash to the political efforts. Seems like the grass is not greener on the other side and they would like to return to the rock, but fearing prosecutions, they have remained overseas. They think their chances to avoid prosecution are better, if the political status quo remains the same.
Audit time
6. Word is that all is not well at the place where they keep the national treasures, so an audit has been ordered. Some are worried, however, that should there be a case of missing artefacts or other pieces, another fire might be used to obscure the audited findings.
CEO and rent
7. Friends and visitors to the institution were in shock and awe when the bailiff turned up with the summons for the CEO recently. They were even more dismayed when they learnt that the issue at hand was the non-payment of rent running into millions of dollars.
