The new JN Financial Services centre at Catherine Hall in Montego Bay has added an automated teller machine that dispenses US currency.
JN said the ATM will dispense US currency to users who deposit an equivalent sum in Jamaican dollars.
JN's new branch had a soft opening on December 5. The 9,000 square-foot, two-storey office complex includes a large JN Express Centre, with ATMs and Drop Boxes, as well as a JNBS Branch Transaction Processing, Teller Stations and Customer Service.
Branch Manager for JNBS Montego Bay, Shernette Callam, announced the new ATM service while addressing a group of Kiwanians, said Jamaica National Building Society in a press release issued Friday.
"How does this work? Our members will simply use an ATM 24/7 card to access their Jamaican dollar account; the conversion is made in the machine and US dollars dispensed," Callam said.
The JN Regional Mortgage Centre, which operated at the JNBS Montego Bay branch on Market Street, has been relocated to the Catherine Hall locale "to facilitate mortgage loan applications and processing in a larger context" and the complex includes two JN subsidiary companies - JN Fund Managers Limited (JNFM) and NEM Insurance Company Jamaica Limited.
"The office at Catherine Hall will certainly influence the expansion of our operations in central and western Jamaica to meet the growing demand for sophisticated financial products and services," said JNFM general manager Keith Senior in the JN release. The fund company will also continue to offer services out of JN's Market Street branch in the heart of the city.
Chris Hind, general manager of NEM, said the move from the insurance company's current Market Street location allows for greater ease of doing business between the general insurance company and its clients.
