Windwards place third

BRIDGETOWN, Barbados (CMC):

Paced by an outstanding spell of bowling by Delorn Johnson, the Windward Islands completed a seven-wicket victory over Barbados in the Consolation Final of the Caribbean Twenty20 tournament at Kensington Oval yesterday.

Johnson, who sent down two maidens, was almost unplayable, taking five wickets for five runs from his allocation of four overs.

Scores:

BARBADOS 101 off 20 overs (Jonathan Carter 42, Alcindor Holder 24; Delorn Johnson 4-2-5-5).

WINDWARD ISLANDS 105 for three off 17.5 overs (André Fletcher 42, Devon Smith 34).
