With horses such as STORYOFMYLIFE and CLASSIC BEAU scoring upsets at Caymanas Park last Saturday, the Pick-9 eluded punters and offers a million-dollar carryover tomorrow.

It embraces races two to 10, while the first Super-6 will be conducted from race one to six, the overlapping Super-6 from five to 10.

We look at the second Super-6 which gets under way with a restricted allowance race over 1400 metres for native and imported three-year-olds.

Ten have been declared, including the classic aspirants PRINCE ANDREW and ITALIANO, along with the useful American colt UPPA TUNE who chased home fellow American REAL VIBES MACHINE over 1200 metres on January 14.

The winner will more than likely come from this trio, and while all three have good clams, preference is for the Wayne DaCosta-trained grey colt ITALIANO who finished 71/4 lengths third to his unbeaten stable-companion BLAST THEM AWAY and subsequent winner NOON IT IS in the fast-run Sweet Ruckus Trophy over this trip on December 31.

Salute to mom looking good

In the sixth race over 1600 metres for $180,000 claimers, down-in-class SALUTE TO MOM under former champion jockey Omar Walker will be hard to beat from her favourable No. 16 draw on the outside. And consistent LIKKLE BIT with newly crowned champion jockey Dick Cardenas (fresh from a two-week vacation in Florida) is preferred to recent conqueror DOCTOR DEVIOUS (Winston Griffiths again) in the seventh (high claiming) over 1600 metres in which 13 have been declared.

Briefly, BRED FOR SUCCESS is tipped to go one better in the eighth race over 1600 metres for $180,000 claimers, while it should be the progressive American colt RIO COBRE (seeks hat-trick) over the course specialist PALACE GOLD in the ninth (overnight allowance) over the straight, and consistent ABRAM STAR in the nightpan.
