Modernise Jamaica's mail system

THE EDITOR, Sir:

Why does mail from the USA take soooooo long to reach our loved ones in Jamaica? Why do bank deposits or remitted funds take sooooo long to be cleared and given to the recipients? The funds you receive from overseas are electronically transmitted.

It is, after all, 2012, and if Jamaica wishes to continue to be known as 'Little America', you have to speed things up. This slow pace that has been going on for ages is a form of slavery and is DEFINITELY a remnant of our bondage.

Jamaicans need to get with the times or be left behind.

Having a mobile phone or other contraptions does not mean you have arrived. You arrive when ALL the people are getting premium service.
