Jamaica's Ambassador to Washington, DC, Audrey Marks, is not backing away from her responsibilities as Jamaica's chief envoy to the United States.
In a release issued yesterday in response to reports carried elsewhere in the media, Marks said it was the protocol when there is a change of political administration to offer a resignation and she had simply followed it.
She said: "I advised that I would be willing to cooperate with a timetable that served the interest of the new administration. In the meantime, as is the norm, I continue to carry out my duties to the best of my ability."
Marks added: "I am deeply committed to Jamaica's development and my record of public service over the years reflects that commitment."
