Jamaica's Beach volleyball duos of Cherine Richards and Cheryl Daley, and Tsahai Williams and Nardrake Hutchinson went down to their regional counterparts Trinidad and Tobago in the second round of play in the NORCECA Women's Inter Zonal Beach Volleyball Continental Cup Olympic Qualifier, now under way in Costa Rica.

Jamaica was among five competing teams as the Caribbean skills are matched up against Central American talent.

The competition kicked off on Friday following the official opening ceremony that was staged Thursday evening.

In their first matches of the competition, the Jamaica team-one duo Daley/Richards and team-two players Williams/Hutchinson went down to Nicaragua in their respective matches.

In the second round of play, an experienced Trinidadian team won 15-10 over Daley/Richards in the losers' bracket of the double-elimination tournament.

Earlier Daley/Richards had defeated the Trinidad B team to earn the right to face their fellow countrymen.

The other Caribbean teams participating in the competition include Barbados, Curacao, Costa Rica, Panama, Guatemala, El Salvador, and the Cayman Islands. The games will come to an end later today.
