Dragonaires disappointed

THE EDITOR, Sir:

I AM writing this letter to express our total disgust at the way your reporters disrespected Byron Lee's Dragonaires regarding their performance at the recently concluded Jamaica Jazz & Blues Festival.

For a band that represents more than 55 years in the Jamaican music industry, and who performed for more than 80 minutes on Thursday night, January 26, not a mention was made in any of the Gleaner reports of that night's performance.

The band was the premier opening act for that night, playing various genres of music for Jamaica's 50 years celebration. They also provided backing for the ledgendary Derrick Morgan, Pluto and Bony M's Marcia Barrett, and yet your reporters gave the band no mention at all.

Frankly, this is a blatant slap in the face to the memory of The Dragon. We are all extremely disappointed with The Gleaner.
