On Wednesday, Prime Minister Portia Simpson Miller hosted members of The Gleaner's editorial staff to say thanks for having invited her to be guest editor for the recent International Women's Day edition of the paper. The reception was held at Vale Royal.

Simpson Miller said she had received many telephone calls about the excellent product and that the stories were heart-warming. She also thanked the team headed by the Editor-in-Chief Garfield Grandison for the framed front page, and her colleague ministers for attending the function. She expressed a willingness to repeat the performance, if asked again.

In his response, Grandison thanked her for her contribution and for agreeing to make the time to do it, given her busy schedule.

Here is a pictorial highlight of the function.
