Weathershield Limited takes over Florida-based company

HOPEWELL, Hanover:

Weathershield Limited in Hanover is the new owner of Architectural Foam Design (AFD) in Fort Myers, Florida.

With this acquisition, Weathershield has become the second-largest manufacturer of architectural foam products in Jamaica.

"The combination of Architectural Foam Design, (Florida), with our construction-related products will provide our clients with added benefits and a wider of range of choices," said Glen Vernon, managing director of Weathershield Limited.

"The acquisition is also expected to result in greater efficiencies and significantly increase market share."

Vernon said the acquisition of AFD was accomplished through an innovative and "well-thought-out plan" aimed at new product introduction.

"We felt this business was essential to the continued growth and development of Weathershield Limited. This opportunity came through research, and we acted expeditiously to ensure our success."

Weathershield Ltd carries the Newtech machine, which extrudes seamless eave gutters for rainwater harvesting, and also provides the widest range of roof covering and waterproofing membranes.
