Justice Marlene Malahoo Forte departed the island yesterday for the Global Power Partnership of Women Elected/Appointed Conference, which is being held in Washington DC.
On her return, she intends to share her experience with interested persons.
The forum, which was founded in 2006, focuses on human-rights issues particularly human trafficking and how it affects children and females.
The conference will provide training for those in attendance and who has the will to help women leaders develop and implement strategic polices to combat the crisis. Malahoo Forte is hoping to play a key role in the shaping of new legislation, or amendment, to further protect the rights of women and children.
