THE EDITOR, Sir:
The National Housing Trust (NHT takes note of two inaccuracies in an article published in your online edition of The Gleaner of Thursday, June 14, 2012 and headlined 'NHT employees charged in million-dollar fraud'.
The first error pertains to the number of NHT employees reported to be associated with the issue on which you have reported, while the second relates to your reference to "a senior employee".
With regard to the first inaccuracy, both the headline and the third paragraph of the article referred to NHT employees being charged in connection with the matter being reported on.
However, as was mentioned in our press release captioned 'NHT cooperating with police in suspected fraud case', dispatched on June 7, 2012 to all news media, there is only one person connected with the matter who is an NHT employee.
Regarding the second error, we note that the sole NHT employee named in the reported case is not a senior employee, as your article alleges.
Instead, the person named is actually a junior employee within the context of the NHT's organisational structure.
