THE EDITOR, Sir:
In the interest of public safety, I am forwarding the attached photograph that I took of traffic signs duly erected by the authorities on either side of the exit of the slip road linking Red Hills Road and Washington Boulevard in the vicinity of the Dunrobin overpass/underpass.
By conventional standards, these signs are indicating that the motorist should not turn left or right and obviously the motorist cannot go straight head, either. So the question is: Which way should the motorist go?
It would be quite laughable, were it not such a frightening encounter for a first-time user of this roadway. Even more alarming, though, is the fact that these blatantly confusing signs have remained there for several months now.
I wonder what this says for those charged with responsibility for road safety in Jamaica?
