A smile to die for and speed that kills - figuratively, of course. Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce is a darling off the track but a fierce competitor on it. From the crude, inner-city streets of Waterhouse, to the heights of international athletics stardom, Jamaica's sprinting sweetheart will this month return to the stage of her greatest performance - the Olympic Games.

Shelly, four years ago, stole the hearts of many, racing to Olympic gold in the 100m in Beijing, China, and will enter London's Olympic Stadium as a major contender for the jackpot.

Today, we share 10 things you did not know about Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce.

1 A highly spiritual young lady who worships at Church of God, but a frequent visitor to Swallowfield Chapel.

2 Rules under the sign of Capricorn. She celebrates her 24th birthday in December.

3 She drives a 2011-2012 Audi swift enough to match her speed and also owns a Suzuki Swift.

4 Loves to party and favours bright colours for her hair too.

5 Was a precocious student at Wolmer's who often got into trouble. Liked to play pranks and was described as the "female version of Dennis The Menace".

6 Very enterprising and would knock heads with her mother on how best to increase sales through higglering.

7 UNICEF ambassador for peace.

8 Passionate about children and wants to work to help the disadvantaged.

9 In her final year at the University of Technology Jamaica, pursuing a course in social work.
