Artiste to kick-start Tracks and Records live music summer series
In an effort to help revive the live music scene, Solid Agency, Guinness, and Usain Bolt's Track and Records will be hosting the first instalment in the Behind The Screen Series.
The unplugged series kicks off today at Tracks and Records, Constant Spring Road, St Andrew, with Tanya Stephens as the first performer.
Solid Agency's Leann Ollivierre says the performance will be one hour long and Stephens will perform with a band in a very intimate setting.
"We don't really have a lot of band shows, so what they are trying to do is bring back that vibe as opposed to a track show," Ollivierre told The Gleaner.
"We just want people to come out and have a good time. Just bring back the whole live performances."
She said Stephens would be the first performer in the series that will last for the entire summer. For the remaining Tuesdays in July, there will be performances from other acts like Beenie Man, Konshens, and Romain Virgo.
Ollivierre would not disclose the names of the acts who would be on show for August.
"We think that she (Tanya Stephens) can carry the show and draw people to the venue, and people haven't seen her perform for a long while. We wanted a strong performer to start it off so that people would keep coming," Ollivierre said.
