The national minimum wage is now $4,500 (general) and $6,655 for security guards. What would be a reasonable figure?

That's like working US$50 a week. What a shame!! At least $8,000 a week would help to make ends meet!

Minimum wage is too low. Do you think that $4,500 can do anything? Again, it needs to be increased like right now.

- Tainya Fuller

$4,500 is a darn disgrace; between $8,000 and $10,000 per week can stop a gap.

- Taylor Collette

This means the minimum you can pay, but it doesn't mean you should not use your discretion. I pay $1,500 per day for domestic work, so it means $7,500 per five-day week. Just use your conscience if you can or do your work yourself.

- Jacqueline Campbell

In Barbados, we dont have a minimum wage, but the lowest sum people work for is BDS$200 (US$100) a week. But you can work BDS$50 (US$25) a day to BDS$100 (US$50) a day, so your wages are very small.

- Peter Rock

These people work so hard and they get the worst pay. Security guards should be paid way more. Politicians need to stop make them big man friends use them. These people don't even get health benefits, yet they work long hours without being compensated properly. It is more than a disgrace, it is way worse.

Which athlete should carry the Jamaican flag at the Olympics?

VCB. She is still the queen of Jamaican track and field. Shelly-Ann should be the next option if VCB declines.

- @ VacianK

How could it be anyone other than Bolt?

- @benglishjr

Kenneth Edwards. He is representing Jamaica in martial arts. This is historic, first time ever that Jamaica has someone representing at the Olympics in this event.

- @Sheri_Kgn

VCB should carry the national flag. She's royal.

- @Robg65

Asafa Powell's contribution to Jamaican sprinting made the world sit up and take notice of us. This might be his last Olympics.
