If you are a devotee of the National Dance Theatre Company (NDTC), and you attended Saturday night's 50th anniversary gala, you would no doubt have left feeling founder/artistic director, the late Rex Nettleford's legacy is alive and ready to continue its steps into the next 50 years.

And, if you were lucky enough, you also felt his happy spirit prancing and smiling about the historic Little Theatre along Tom Redcam Avenue. The company did their founder proud. The night's dance selections: The Crossing, Minutes and Seconds, Sulkari, Urban Fissure and Nettleford's signature, Kumina, were all that and more. What a fitting tribute.

The gala itself showed Bert Rose at his absolute best in terms of decor and ambience and as patrons and guests danced the night away, no doubt, the stage is set for another excellent season.
