NIGERIAN PRESIDENT Goodluck Jonathan will visit the island next week in commemoration of Jamaica's 50th anniversary of Independence.

President Jonathan, along with First Lady Dame Patience Jonathan, will be the guest of the people of Jamaica from August 2 to 3.

The Nigerian president will hold bilateral talks with Prime Minister Portia Simpson Miller. He will also pay courtesy calls on Governor General Sir Patrick Allen and Leader of the Opposition Andrew Holness.

The Government last week announced that Jacob Zuma, the president of the Republic of South Africa, would be in the island to celebrate the country's golden jubilee. Zuma is scheduled to arrive for a three-day visit on August 4.
