Responses to Gleaner Online story, 'Bolt says he has no respect for American Carl Lewis'.
I'm an American, born and raised. Carl Lewis is a hater. Bolt and his teammates did exceptionally well for themselves and their country. I and the rest of the world celebrate with Jamaica with their Olympic medals. Congrats, Jamaica.
Bolt is right. Since IAAF and WADA cleaned up the sport and created a level playing field, certain countries have been complaining that Jamaica has been winning more than it should. They hate that the spotlight has turned away from them and will do anything to discredit the accomplishment of a small island like ours.
If it [drug cheating] had been cleaned up earlier, Juliet Cuthbert would have two gold medals and Merlene Ottey would be the most clelebrated female athlete in Jamaica's history. Flo Jo still has ridiculous WR times from 1988. Why aren't IAAF and WADA talking about that?
With you there. I'm elated that the BIG MAN put Carl Lewis in his place. And he did it so the whole world to hear. Lewis must now crawl back into his cubby hole.
Is Carl Lewis speaking from a position of intimate knowledge? Perhaps the gentleman should help to clean out the Augean stables in his own backyard before looking for spots in our living room.
Speak out, Usain, you guh London to drink milk, not to count cow. I have no respect for Carl Lewis either. Many times they pick on us because they expect us to take the high road. It's about time Jamaicans start speaking up and defending themselves, especially against these outrageous attacks.
The Americans are just jealous that the spotlight is no longer on them, so they will do anything to trample on the reputation of honest, hard-working people that have put so much commitment so that they can be where they are.
Look how many of their athletes have been found using banned substances. We as Jamaicans have proven over and over that we don't have to be like them to get where we are.
They just can't stand being on the back bench. Bad mind a go kill them.
